Save time with reusable instructions.

Once you create a skill, you can easily use it again. Here are a few ways skills can help you work more efficiently:

🗓️ Presentation Prep: Build a custom skill to outline slides, craft talking points, and prep for tough Q&As for a class presentation or a project pitch.
✍️ Match My Style: Draft emails and docs in your authentic voice using context from @GoogleWorkspace.
💡 Get More Perspectives: Explore three to five distinct angles for viewpoints on a topic to help you brainstorm ideas, refine arguments, or commit to a decision.

Skills are also proactive and stackable.

Gemini can help you build custom skills from your chats and automatically use a saved skill if your prompt aligns with it. For bigger tasks, you can stack multiple skills together at the same time, like pairing your personal writing style skill with a brand guidelines skill to create on-brand assets in your voice.

Plus, starting today, you can create skills that include reference files like plain text documents, PDFs, or images, and soon you’ll be able to share your custom skills with others and add files from @GoogleDrive.

Gems will automatically migrate into Skills.

As we bring even more functionality to skills in the coming weeks, skills will replace Gems as the tool for tailoring instructions for specific tasks starting in November for individuals with personal accounts (March 2027 for Workspace business, enterprise, and nonprofit customers and June 2027 for Workspace education customers).

To make this transition seamless, we will automatically migrate your Gems into skills when Gems go away. You can learn more about how to transition your Gems into skills by visiting our help center: goo.gle/4dc3URP

Skills are rolling out globally in Gemini today, and expanding to @GoogleWorkspace business, enterprise, nonprofit, and education customers in the coming weeks.
