This is one of the most fascinating impacts of AI for me.
I was always very *interested* in Rust. On the Chrome team I spent a lot of time writing C++, so the benefits of both native code and memory safety were obvious to me.
We actually started a port of Replicache to Rust way back when. But it was just incredibly unproductive for the kind of work we needed to do when it was humans writing it. Just a non-starter.
But now that AIs can write it, it has completely changed the calculus. It's not even a question. Rust is the obvious choice. And it's interesting to see so many people from all different communities come to same conclusion simultaneously.
